One of the key benefits under the Irish Work & Access scheme is the availability of a free Workplace Needs Assessment. This is where a suitably qualified professional conducts an assessment in partnership with an employer and a disabled employee (or self-employed person) to identify barriers they face in the workplace and make recommendations as to suitable accommodations or adjustments to the working environment to address those issues.
Importantly, funding for many valuable supports under the Work & Access scheme requires a Workplace Needs Assessment to be carried out first 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 (and indeed, they must source multiple quotes if it costs over a certain amount).

In theory, this seems all straightforward. But in practice, the usual large occupational health providers do not seem to provide this service and apart from one or two providers who advertise the service online, it was not apparent from online searches who was providing such services in Ireland. This represented a substantial practical barrier for employers getting supports for their people.

In April 2025, I contacted over 180 different occupational health providers, occupational therapists, psychologists, consultancies and other relevant organisations to seek confirmation of whether they provide workplace needs assessments in line with the Work & Access scheme requirements.
20 providers confirmed they provide such service and I include their contact details (name, description, website and email address) in the attached document, also outlining how details were sourced (apologies the document is a bit rough).
Hopefully this will be of use for Irish employers in supporting their neurodivergent people, do share to anyone who may benefit.
